今日は「風邪」についての記事だよ。

風邪の話って内科医であっても意見が分かれるほど、科学的根拠を示すのが難しいものらしいね。

風邪ってなに?

風邪(かぜ、common cold, nasopharyngitis, rhinopharyngitis, acute coryza, a cold)とは、原因の80-90%がウイルスの上気道感染症であり、主な影響は鼻に現れる[1][2]。喉、副鼻腔、喉頭も影響を受ける可能性がある[3]。症状はたいてい感染後二日以内に発生する[3]。症状としては、咳、咽頭痛、くしゃみ、鼻水、鼻閉、頭痛、発熱、嗄声などが現れる

簡潔に言うと、ウイルスが侵入し、鼻、喉、気管に炎症が起こっている状態。
なので、鼻水や咳がでる。

病院に行くべき?薬は飲むべき?

基本的には行かなくてもいい。
当然だけど、動けない、食べられない、などの重症ならためらわずに救急車を呼んでくれ。

衝撃的なことを言うけど、薬を飲んでも症状が緩くはなるが、治る速度は早くならない。
逆に、風邪の患者が集まる場所に行くわけだし、移動で寒かったり、長時間待ったり。
逆に体調が悪くなるリスクがある。

薬局の薬はどう思う?

内容を調べてみると分かるけど、病院で処方されるものと同じようなものが入っている。
つまり、症状は軽くなると思うけど、治るのが早くなるわけではない。

また、副作用が懸念されるので、容量は少なめに設定されているらしい。

薬局で手に入るので手軽で楽な分、保険がきかないのでコストがかかり、少々容量が少ないわけだね。

早く治す方法はある?

噛み砕いて言うと、元気だったら治るのが早い。
つまり、心的なストレスをなくし、よく寝て、よく食べて、適度に運動をする。

逆に、これを食べたら早く治る!みたいなものは基本的にはない。
ビタミンCとか、ほぼ効果ないよ。

免疫力を上げるには?

基本的には免疫力は上げられないと思っている。

強いて言えば、上記のとおり「元気なこと」が大切。
ストレスを減らし、寝て食べて運動。

よくメディアで「免疫力を上げる!」などと言っているが大抵は効果がないと思う。
企業努力だね。

ちなみに、先天性的に強い、弱いはあると思う。
あとそれに近い形で、幼少期にどう過ごしたか。

赤ちゃんの頃に、少々汚い環境で過ごしたほうが体は強くなるらしいね。
抵抗力がつく。
逆に劣悪すぎてもダメらしい。

風邪を引かない方法は?

人との接触をなるべく避けること。
何か食べるときは必ずしっかり手洗いをすること。
しっかり食べて、寝て、ストレスがない、元気な生活を送ること。

でも引くときは引く。
風邪はある程度、運だと思っている。

運動は有効なのか?

微妙。
軽く汗をかくような運動は有効だと思うが、筋肥大を目指すハードなものは一時的とは言え体を弱らせる行為。
たぶん逆効果。

でも「根性」と「体力」はつくからね。
多少体調不良でも気合で乗り切れる。

風邪を引いた時に運動はしていいか、という質問がよくあるが、頑張れるんだったら頑張っていいと思うよ。
それで治りが遅くなったり早くなったりはないと思う。
周りに絶対うつすなよ!

バカは風邪引かないって本当?

もちろん統計なんかないけど、感覚的にはありそう(笑)

簡潔に言うと、すごく元気な人って親しみを込めて「バカ」って言われるじゃん?

ちなみに年収が高いほど風邪を引きにくいっていう統計はある。
バカと秀才は紙一重。

手洗いは有効?

有効。
食事をする際にしっかりと手洗いをするのはとても大切だと思う。

基本的に風邪の感染ルートは飛沫感染。
風邪をひいた人がくしゃみをして、それが手すりについて、それを自分が触って、その手で食事をする、など。
つまり、何かを口に入れる際に手が超綺麗なら風邪の感染ルートはグッと減ると考えている。

ちなみに水洗いでは不十分。
石鹸でしっかり洗って、アルコールも併用したいところだ。

ちなみに空気感染はほぼないんじゃないかな。

マスクは有効?

微妙。
そもそも空気感染はほぼないし、誰かに真正面からくしゃみや咳をぶっかけられることもほぼ無いでしょう。
そもそもマスクには隙間もあるし。
ガスマスクみたいなのなら効果あると思うよ。

喉を湿らして感染を抑えられる、っていうのもあるが、科学的根拠に乏しいみたい。
俺はマスクしない。

もちろん、既に風邪を引いていて、周りへの感染拡大を防ぐ効果は大きいと思う。
あとノーメイクの女子にもおすすめだね。

うがいは有効?

微妙。
根拠がないが、ほぼ効果がないと思う。

しっかりと歯磨きをして、口内を清潔にすることは有効だと思う。

ちなみにうがいをするなら水道水ね。
イソジン他を使うと喉や口の粘膜を傷つける可能性があるみたい。

井戸水を使っていた時の名残かな?

加湿器は有効?

微妙。
たぶん風邪そのものを予防する効果は薄いと思う。
風邪は基本的に外でもらってくるもので、家の中だけ加湿してもね。

加湿器を使うことで喉の乾燥を防ぎ、安眠ができるから体調が整って、という効果はあると思う。

お風呂は入っていい?

入っていいよ。
多分これ、大昔のお風呂が家の離れにあった時の名残じゃないかな。
しっかり温まって、さっと拭いて髪乾かして、ちゃんと水分補給。
まったく問題ないと思う。

抗生物質は有効?

効かない。
医者に「出しておきますね」って言われたら、正直言って、、、
おっと誰かが来たようだ。

風邪を引きやすい人、引きにくい人の違いは?

繰り返しになるが、無駄に元気な人は風邪を引きにくい。
多忙でストレスを貯め、睡眠不足で、暴飲暴食をしている人は引きやすい。

あと大きいのは、生まれ持って免疫力が強い人、弱い人。

大切だと思うのは風邪の引きはじめだ。
風邪を引きにくい人は、風邪の症状にいち早く気付き、早く帰ってしっかり寝る、などの対策を取る。
風邪を引きやすい人ほど、このあたりが鈍感になってはいないだろうか。

有効なサプリメントはあるか?

グルタミンとマルチビタミンミネラル。
しかし、これは風邪を予防したり、治すのを早くする効果はないと思う。

元気になるためのサプリメントと思っていい。
